Untitled, 2016.

This project is about beauty standards that have come from my visual heritage. Beauty standards in Lebanon are very high and have made a large impact on my life. This sculpture deals with the effects of plastic surgery and beautifying on young women. It is a comment on specifically Lebanese mothers who have been affected by these high standards and whose daughters will grow up in the same environment. Like mother, like daughter. How can a young girl find freedom in physical appearances?
